Reduction fired, stoneware pestle and mortar, with a white chalky (Dolomite) glaze. The interior is unglazed so it has the perfect surface for grinding spices and other ingredients.
This pestle and mortar is part of the Leach Standard Ware collection, which is designed for everyday use. They are made by hand at the Leach Pottery in St Ives, Cornwall, which is widely considered to be one of the finest Studio Potteries in the world.
